How PCR DNA testing works
Advanced PCR (multiplex) testing looks for the genetic material — the DNA or RNA — of infections directly. That makes results faster and more accurate than older methods, and it can screen for many infections from a single sample.

Rapid HIV results are ready in about 20 minutes. Lab-based results typically take 3–7 working days, and we’ll let you know as soon as they’re in.
