STD Testing & Screening
in Penang & Malaysia

Comprehensive, confidential and judgment-free STD & HIV testing, led by specialist Dr. Tan. Know your status with peace of mind.

Testing is a normal, responsible health habit

Getting tested is the only way to know your status. Many STIs cause no symptoms at all — you can feel completely fine and still carry an infection. Early detection means simpler treatment, and it protects the partners you care about.

We're here to help, not to judge.

When should I get tested?

You don’t need to be sick — or symptomatic — to check your sexual health. Testing makes sense whenever:

As a routine check

A regular sexual health check is a healthy habit — even with no symptoms at all.

A new partner, or more than one

A quick test gives you both a clean, confidential starting point.

You're planning a pregnancy

Screening protects your health and your future baby's.

You've noticed symptoms

Discharge, sores, itching or pain — testing gives you answers fast.

After unprotected sex

Even a one-time encounter is a good reason to check in.

A partner has tested positive

Get tested promptly so you can be treated early if needed.

Common STD symptoms

If you notice any of these, a simple test can give you answers — and most causes are very treatable.

Genital symptoms

Skin symptoms

Urinary symptoms

Many STIs show no symptoms at all — testing is still recommended if you’re sexually active.

Our testing packages

Three clear tiers with transparent pricing — Dr. Tan will help you choose the right one at your consultation.

Essential Screen

A must-first check for anyone who is sexually active and wants routine peace of mind.

GOOD FOR

The most common STIs: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis and HIV.

Sample: Urine + blood

Results: Rapid HIV in ~20 min; lab results in 3–7 working days

Comprehensive Screen

For a fuller picture — after a new partner, symptoms, or if it’s been a while since your last check.

GOOD FOR

Everything in Essential, plus Trichomonas, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Herpes and Hepatitis.

Sample: Urine + blood (+ swab)

Results: 3–7 working days

Advanced PCR DNA Screen

Most detailed

The most complete screen — for maximum reassurance or specific concerns.

GOOD FOR

In-depth multiplex PCR DNA testing for common and genital-tract pathogens. Separate male and female panels; self-collected where appropriate.

Sample: Urine / swab (self-collected option), blood

Results: 1–3 working days

Not sure which to choose? Ask Dr. Tan — no question is off the menu.

How PCR DNA testing works

Advanced PCR (multiplex) testing looks for the genetic material — the DNA or RNA — of infections directly. That makes results faster and more accurate than older methods, and it can screen for many infections from a single sample.

How to prepare for your test

Preparation is simple — just a few small things help us get the most accurate result.

Blood

Blood test

No fasting needed. Come as you are — before or after meals is fine.

Urine

Urine test

Hold your urine for at least 2 hours before the test for the most accurate results.

Swab

Swab test

Avoid cleaning the area beforehand. Women should avoid vaginal swabs during menstruation for accuracy.

What happens at your appointment

Everything happens in a private consultation room, at your pace.

A relaxed, confidential chat with Dr. Tan about your history and any risk factors.

2. Optional physical examination
